We had a busy holiday season so I have a few posts to catch up on. First we have to rewind to December 2, 2013 when our little boy turned 3. December 2 was a big day for many reasons, it was also Jake's first day of German Kindergarten. Despite being thrown into a classroom with 21 German kids he handled it very well, there were only a few tears that first week. It helped that one of his good friends, Levi, is also in his class. As we are the only Americans at the school, it's been a learning experience for us both. Jake can't communicate with the other kids and I can't communicate with the teachers, so we just smile and laugh a lot. It's a great little school and Jake has adjusted really well. He is going every morning for 3 hours, so we know it's just a matter of time before he is teaching us all German.
All ready for his first day of school!
We didn't actually recognize Jake's birthday on the 2nd because Daddy was deployed at the time, but he did send a special birthday message while he was away-
The sign is hard to read, but it says "Happy 3rd Birthday Jake 2 Dec 2013."
The best present was when Bill returned home and was able to surprise Jake by picking him up at school. Then we celebrated properly...
His new playroom decor which he calls his "ABCs"
Can you tell that he loves trucks?
Happy Birthday smiles from little sis.
They also celebrated Jake's birthday at school and made him a special crown.
I am not sure where the time has gone, but it has been so much fun watching Jacob grow up. He loves his trucks, trains, airplanes and anything that moves. He loves books and singing his "ABCs." He is a sweet boy with a big heart. He says sorry when he hasn't done anything wrong. He loves his little sister and is always looking out for her. He gives me a big hug, pats me on the back and tells me "I'm proud of you mommy," when I finish my dinner. He is adventurous yet reserved. He can play quietly by himself for hours and would eat peanut butter at every meal if we let him. His daddy is his hero.
Oh, the places you'll go sweet Jacob Thomas!
